Need to fit something in your ute tray but the ladder rack is in the way? Our Fleet Trades ladder racks are fully removable so you can utilise the full tray space when required. They are specifically designed to lift in and out from their pockets incorporated into the rear of the tray body.
We’ve put together a quick step-by-step guide to help ensure you’re removing your ladder rack safely and efficiently off any of our range of ute trays.
Step 1: Loosen the grub screws
With a 5 millimetre allen key, begin to loosen the grub screws on the corners of the ute tray. There are 4 grub screws in total..
Step 2: Lower drop sides
Lower the drop sides by sliding the latch into the position that allows the side to be freed from the slot. Support the side from the centre as you gently lower both sides.
Step 3: Remove the rear ladder rack (2 people recommended)
With the drop sides lowered, it’s time to remove the ladder rack by lifting it from the centre and lifting each side out evenly. We recommend doing this step with two people for ease of removal.
Step 4: Replace with corner posts
Once your rack has been removed and placed safely out of the way, it’s time to replace the rear ladder rack with the supplied corner posts.
Step 5: Raise drop sides
After the corner posts are securely placed, you can raise the drop sides. Be sure to check that all latches are adjusted correctly to avoid any mishaps later down the track.
Step 6: Tighten grub screws
Get your 5 millimetre allen key back out and tighten the grub screws which were loosened in Step 1.
Step 7: Reverse to reinstall rack
When the time comes to reinstall your ladder rack, simply follow the same steps above, removing the corner posts and replacing them with the ladder rack. Be sure each side of the ladder rack is placed evenly back in the tray.
