Our popular Flat Aluminium Canopy can now be optioned with our exciting new Lift Off Platform. As the name suggests, the canopy can be “lifted off” and replaced depending on the owner’s needs. The canopy is secured to a unique base with pockets built into it to locate the four jacking posts. The base then clamps down to the tray to secure it. Ideal for those who use their ute for work and recreational purposes.
How does the canopy lift off, you ask? Let us take you through the process below. It takes no more than five minutes!
Step 1: Remove the latches from the sides of the canopy/base.
On the bottom of the canopy at each corner are the jacking pockets which need to have the securing over-centre latches released and removed.
Step 2: Insert the legs.
Once all of the posts are removed, it’s time to insert the legs which come with the Lift Off Platform. There are four in total as pictured below.
Step 3: Lift up each side using a winch.
Grab your winch and begin to lift up each side of the canopy at the legs. Ensure the load is evenly distributed and no longer relying on the support of the vehicle. There should be some clearance in between.
Step 4: Drive your car out.
With your canopy raised above the base of the vehicle, you can now drive your car out and use it for your weekend adventures.
When the time comes to replace your Lift Off Canopy, simply reverse the steps listed above and ensure the canopy is latched down onto the vehicle. Approximately five minutes later, your canopy will be back on and ready to take to your next job site.
